I initially covered Golden Cross Resources Ltd. (AUX:TSXV) several months ago in June. At that point, gold was hovering around US$3,375 and as I type, gold has surged beyond US$3,800. Golden Cross was trading at CA$0.57 and by last Friday had merely inched up to CA$0.69 before this recent announcement. Occasionally I ponder what investors are thinking.
Golden Cross just unveiled remarkable findings on September 29 from the initial trio of holes in a ten-hole Phase 1 exploration campaign at Reedy Creek. A completely backed additional 10,000 meters of exploration is underway for Phase 2 of this year’s initiative.
Findings were exceptional including 10.8 meters of 2.08 g/t Au with 0.5 meters of 24.4 g/t Au from 28 meters downhole. Furthermore, previously unexamined drill core revealed 23 meters of 3.01 g/t Au, 9 meters of 3.64 g/t Au and 10 meters of 2.81 g/t Au.
Golden Cross shares boundaries with Southern Cross Gold. Southern Cross (SXGC:TSE) has escalated from CA$0.36 two years ago to CA$7.14 as I write with a combined market value of approximately CA$1.85 billion. Southern Cross now possesses a market value 37 times greater than Golden Cross despite Golden Cross being a comparable system situated literally adjacent. Before the latest announcement, Golden Cross carried a market value of roughly CA$50 million so substantial growth potential exists over the upcoming years.
Scott Berdahl of Snowline gold presents another excellent comparison for Golden Cross. CEO Matt Roma of Golden Cross served as founding CFO of Snowline Gold Corp. (SGD:TSX.V; SNWGF:OTCQB) and contributed as Snowline exhibited a price of CA$0.185 four years ago and has soared to CA$11.20 today with a market value just under CA$2 billion. Matt Roma assisted in launching that narrative, now he’s replicating it at Golden Cross.
Golden Cross is positioned in one of Victoria, Australia’s most abundant gold regions, featuring operational mines at Fosterville and Costerfield. Earlier drilling uncovered samples as rich as 11 meters 31.4 grams per tonne gold and 2 meters of 174.42 g/t Au. The premium-grade gold appears in layered quartz gold veins resembling ladder rungs between 40 and 140 meters apart.
The preliminary ten holes were designed to be shallow to verify their structural understanding. The program totaled only 2300 meters. Golden Cross currently employs two drilling rigs conducting the 10,000 meter fully financed Phase 2 program. Expect consistent waves of test results emerging regularly.
Golden Cross possesses Southern Cross potential alongside Snowline. Conduct your own research. Definitely review the company presentation, it’s outstanding.
